Coffee Culture
When the tourist/shopper needs a break from sightseeing, soaking up the culture and art, or even shopping, Bratislava’s burgeoning café culture offers the perfect respite.
Bratislava has a really long history of cafés. Coffee and coffee shops first came to the city during Europe’s battles with the Turks, i.e. already in the 17th century. In the 18th century, cafes in what was then Prešpork were under the influence of Vienna.
Currently, you can choose from more traditional cafes in the center and outside, but also from cafes of the third coffee wave, which prepare coffee specialties from domestic and foreign roasters.
