URBAN POP-UP MARKET
Between 7 and 21 December, the Old Market (Stara tržnica) in Bratislava will turn into an urban pop-up market, where guests can buy original Christmas gifts, do their shopping without any rush or stress and support artisan Slovak designers and small local providers. In two weeks, more than 250 local providers will present their services and products. The Christmas atmosphere will be enriched with music, an intriguing programme, and workshops and discussions.
The Urban Market will traditionally offer a tour of independent fashion, design and artistic creations. During this year’s edition, guests will have the opportunity to get to know fresh – and not only local – design. The organisers have joined forces with the Hungarian Wamp festival, the Polish Łódź Art Center and the Czech Zlín Design Week. Together, they will thus prepare intriguing showrooms, presenting the best regional contemporary art.
An eventful program lined-up
In addition to artisan products, visitors can look forward to accompanying programs. The organisers have announced that there will be concerts, workshops, quizzes, discussions, theatres and creative workshops. At the local market, gourmets will appreciate a wide array of local delicacies and Christmas gifts. For bookworms, BRaK will bring bestselling books from small and large publishing houses.
As the Christmas edition of the Urban Market starts soon, guests are invited to support Slovakian artists, enjoy the joyful atmosphere and try mouthwatering delicacies.
