The iconic restaurant has triumphantly returned to the Bratislava gastronomic scene. Providing a unique atmosphere and boasting views of the entire cityscape, the restaurant offers exceptional gastronomic experiences.
One of Maria Theresa’s favourite castles
Bratislava Castle is one of the most visited places in Slovakia – unsurprisingly – given the incredible atmosphere that breathes history. The castle experienced its gilded age during the reign of Maria Theresa. As she spent much time at the castle, she commissioned top architects to rebuild it according to the latest trends of the time. F. A. Hillebrandt, the architect of the Hungarian Royal Building Chamber, was tasked to rebuild the palace and design a winter garden with a pavilion.
The castle building itself once served as a stable for horses. The rectangular, longitudinal floor plan building has a split roof with elements of romanticism. Stone skylights once illuminated the attic of the building. Later, the castle turned into a wine cellar. A terrace was added with a beautiful view of the city, another reason why the restaurant is so popular.
