The new bus station in the capital offers 36 platforms, seven exit platforms, and 86 spots for buses with barrier-free access. The new Nivy complex also features nine LCD TV panels, a large LED wall with information about departures and arrivals similar to those found at airports and several self-service touch screens. The Nivy compound project is a combination of an international bus terminal, a shopping centre, a market and a high-rise administrative building. The green roof includes a running track, exercise and picnic zones, a community garden and children’s playgrounds.
A SUPRA-REGIONAL SHOPPING CENTRE AND A BUS STATION OF INTERNATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE
With this latest sustainable addition to Bratislava, the city hopes to attract more congress attendees who perpetually choose sustainable options of transport. The habits of event attendees have changed, which is why Bratislava is quickly adapting to become a safe haven for a new era of events, where ecologically aware participants will dominate. In the same breath, meeting planners can now opt for sustainable transport when arriving at the destination.
Easily accessible
The station is accessible for both public and private transport and has an underground parking area with 2,150 parking spaces. Developer HB Reavis assured that comfortable access is also provided for cyclists and pedestrians.
The supra-regional shopping centre, the bus station of international significance and the modern urban marketplace have thus made Bratislava one of the most easily accessible destinations in Europe.
