Cycling festival in Slovakia
Slovakia will host the official Tour de France event in Slovakia. On 20 and 21 August, the L’Etape by Tour de France experience will take place for the second time in Slovakia. The mega sports event represents a fantastic opportunity for the organisers, who can present scenic Slovakian roads to international cyclists. On the route, competitors will be able to enjoy the green Slovakian countryside and catch a glimpse of unique castles.
Cyclists are invited to experience the unique atmosphere of the legendary Tour de France in Slovakia and discover the beautiful routes in the capital and the surrounding forests of the Little Carpathians. They can choose between the shorter, less demanding route stretching 65km or the longer one (180km). Both routes will take cyclists past historical monuments in Bratislava and the surrounding towns.
The unique Tour de France atmosphere
“The Tour de France is the world’s greatest cycling race. Each year it is passionately followed by fans around the world, so it has naturally given rise to L’Étape by Tour de France,” said Christian Prudhomme, Tour de France director. The series has now expanded to multiple international locations, including China, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil and Slovakia.
The unique atmosphere of the event is completed by picturesque villages in Záhorie and wine towns along the way. The icing on the cake is the final climb to the finish line on the iconic Kamzík, rising above the capital of Slovakia.
Riding on the same routes and under the same conditions as Tour de France champions: this is the promise that L’Étape du Tour de France has kept since 1993.
