The Viva Musica! festival, the most anticipated international summer festival in Bratislava, will return to the Slovakian capital in its 20th edition. The festival, honouring unique sounds and diverse cultures, has deep roots in the local community. This summer, the festival will span several stages, with several concerts slated to be hosted in gardens and parks.

Founded in 2005, the Viva Musica! festival brings the best of classical music and renowned artists from all over the world. Since its foundation, the festival has organised over 450 concerts featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles.

Distinguished artists

Audiences have had the privilege of enjoying performances by distinguished artists such as Gidon Kremer, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Michael Nyman, John Malkovich, Nigel Kennedy, Víkingur Ólafsson, Emily D’Angelo, Jakub Jozef Orliński, the Kronos Quartet, The King’s Singers, Ensemble Intercontemporain, and many others. Since 2022, the Viva Musica! festival has been the holder of the international mark of quality EFFE Label, conferred by the European Festival Association (EFA) for its high artistic level, contribution to developing the local scene, and important international dimension.

A celebration of classical music

Among a host of internationally acclaimed artists, the festival will host Viva Falgrapp! at the Old Market Hall, Indi Stivín & Collegium Stivinum and Vengerov & Osetinskaya duo. Not least, Bratislava’s Botanica Garden will host the Equilibrium String Quartet.

The 20th annual Viva Musica! festival will be held from July 4 to August 15 at various locations in Bratislava. The 20th edition of the Viva Musica! festival will be organised under the patronage of the Mayor of the Capital City of the Slovak Republic Bratislava, Matúš Vallo. Thirteen concerts will be hosted altogether.
