UFO and Blue Church Circuit with PREŠPORÁČIK OLDTIMER®
One of the most impressive places is the SNP Bridge, whose structure consists of a system of ropes, thanks to which it hangs over the Danube without any supporting pillars in the water.
The road then leads to the largest exhibition center in Slovakia – INCHEBA. The name of this exhibition center comes from its original intention to organize international chemical fairs: IN for International, CHE for Chemical and BA for Bratislava.
The stop under the UFO observation tower offers a 20-minute break, during which you can take an elevator to a height of 95 meters and enjoy a unique, 360° view. From the top, you can admire the historical center, the Kamzík TV tower, the Slavín monument, or even see Austria through the floodplain forests. This viewpoint is one of the places that no visitor to Bratislava should miss.
The route continues past the Leberfinger restaurant, famous for the visits of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Napoleon Bonaparte, and past the Janek Kráľ Park, which is the oldest public park in Central Europe and an important part of the city’s social and cultural life.
When crossing the Apollo Bridge, which bears the name of the former Bratislava refinery and has won the prestigious Opal Awards, a magnificent view opens up of the Danube embankment panorama – from Bratislava Castle and the historical center to the modern buildings of the “Bratislava Manhattan”. This district includes the first Slovak skyscraper, the new building of the Slovak National Theater, the Eurovea shopping center and the iconic buildings of Sky Park, which combine the legacy of the past with modern architecture.
The route also includes the Blue Church, considered a pearl of Art Nouveau architecture and one of the most sought-after tourist attractions in Bratislava. On Šafárik Square, you can see the first Slovak university – Comenius University. The ride continues along the embankment back to the Slovak Philharmonic and the historic building of the National Theatre, where the route begins and ends.
Tickets are available at the office at Panská Street 37, at the sales cart on Hviezdoslavovo Square (by the historic building of the Slovak National Theatre) or during the season at the seller on Rybné Square. For groups, it is recommended to book the ride in advance for a specific time and date.
