Ateliér Babylon

Atelier Babylon, tucked in a narrow street behind the oldest McDonalds in town, it exudes the elegance of an a movie theatre with an alluring oldschool charm – it resides in a former cinema which shut down a long time ago. The best time to visit this unusual music venue is in the autumn and winter, as the schedule for the colder season is fi lled with events and performances of local and international musicians. Music selection includes intimate concerts in a captivating retro atmosphere, loud hard rock gigs and some jazz and blues big bands, plus some really big names. Babylon’s recent concert history includes the best czech and slovak musicians like IMT Smile, Dan Bárta but also foreign artists such as Garbage and Living Colour.

The choice of drinks is small but prices are set so low, you’ll feel like you’ve been in a time machine. All in all, Babylon is a place for serious music lovers and its slightly shabby elegance adds a hint of magic to the overall experience. Babylon also has a VIP balcony for some 100 music enthusiasts and it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll bump into some local music star in the dark.
