Night full of discoveries

Only on this day it will be possible to see interesting exhibitions, author interpretations, creative workshops, animations, tours and other programs in more than 100 locations in Slovakia until late in the evening

Besides showing its current exhibitions, on this Night, the museums and galleries prepared very special programmes. Over several hours, visitors will be able to attend special presentations on current exhibitions, workshops for families with children, workshops for adults, musical performances and other fascinating events across Bratislava. Saturday May 18 is the night, that you should not miss out.

🆓 BIBIANA, international art house for children

🤩BECAUSE MUSHROOMS
15.00 – 21.00 Mushrooms on paper. In the creative process, we discover that we can work with mushrooms not only on a plate, but also on paper. We will explore their structure, shape, size and finish them according to our own imagination.
15.00 – 21.30 Myko – mushrooms to yourself. Take a look at the book by Slovak illustrator Daniela Olejníková and graphic designer Pala Bálik Myko from the Czech publisher Baobab, which was recently awarded at the Bologna Ragazzi Award 2024 in the Nonfiction 2024 category. You will find not only books about mushrooms in the BIBIANY library.

🤩Bunker B-S 4 Lány – Museum of Czechoslovak fortifications

The Program:
🗣️10.00 – 24.00 Commented tours of the fortress every hour (length approx. 45 min), in the case of several guides every half hour

Exposition of firearms from the period of the 2nd century. wars

Bunker B-S 4 “Lány” is the best reconstructed object of Czechoslovak fortifications from 1936-1938 in Slovakia. The originally furnished interior, including the massive external system of anti-tank and anti-personnel obstacles, offers a unique atmosphere not only to lovers of military history and technology.

Enthusiasts who have been reconstructing this bunker to its original condition from 1938 for 13 years will introduce you to the special interior equipment, shooting rooms, functional engine room and filter room, crew quarters, warehouses and display of firearms on a guided tour on two floors of the military bunker.

Within Slovakia, this is a unique museum offering a unique experience.

Bunker B-S 6 Vrba

The Program:
Bunker B-S 6 VRBA is one of the oldest fortifications of the first Czechoslovak Republic. When visiting the museum, you can see a unique exposition of the Czechoslovak fortifications from the 1930s. Guides in period uniforms add variety to the night atmosphere.

Organised worldwide, the Night of Museums and Galleries is a European-wide event sponsored by the Council of Europe to present Europe’s cultural heritage to the greatest possible degree. The objective of International Museum Day is to raise awareness of the fact that Museums and Galleries are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among the people.
