Trio Azevedo Potrinho – Brazilian Jazz Night
The legendary JAZZTIKOT venue on Biela Street will come alive with an evening of Brazilian-Estonian jazz performed by the top trio Ana Azevedo, Lipe Portinho and Pille-Rite Rei. You can look forward to a combination of Brazilian rhythms, Nordic melodies and modern jazz energy.
The Embassy of Brazil and the Guimarães Rosa Institute invite you to a jazz concert by a band consisting of: Lipe Portinho – double bass, Ana Azevedo – piano and Pille-Rite Rei – vocals and saxophone.
Ana Azevedo – piano
A renowned Brazilian pianist and composer Ana Azevedo has collaborated with musical legends such as Stanley Jordan, Roberto Menescal and the Rio Jazz Orchestra. She has released successful albums A Tempo and Brazilian Adventures and is a composer for the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra.
Lipe Portinho – double bass
Award-winning double bassist and composer Lipe Portinho combines Brazilian rhythms with modern classics. He has played with names such as Roberto Menescal and his works have received recognition at world competitions, including the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards.
Pille-Rite Rei – vocals and saxophone
Estonian singer, saxophonist and composer Pille-Rite Rei brings a unique fusion of Baltic, Scandinavian and jazz music. She is the recipient of the Danish Årets Nye Jazznavn award and together with Ana Azevedo and Lipe Portinho recorded the album Brazilian Adventures.
