The Bratislava Christmas
The Pre-Christmas time in Bratislava is inseparably connected with illuminated streets, Christmas trees or stalls full of goodies and handicrafts.
Advent concerts, Christmas markets, programmes for children, Christmas tram, guided tours and walks or exhibitions, bazaars and quizzes. All this is waiting for you during the pre-Christmas time in Bratislava. The thematic programme, together with the lighting of the Christmas tree, will start at the Main Square on 22 November 22.
Bratislava Christmas inherently belongs to the pre-Christmas and Christmas atmosphere of Bratislava. It starts 4 weeks before Christmas with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Main Square and the opening of the Main Christmas Market.
Bratislava Christmas includes a rich cultural programme in Franciscan Square, in the Klarisky concert hall, but also in other places in Bratislava thanks to the involvement of the city districts.
An integral part of the Bratislava Christmas has become the Christmas Forest on Primatial Square, which children from primary and art schools decorate with their own ornaments.
When designing Bratislava Christmas, we also think about people with disabilities, whether by interpreting selected events into Slovak sign language or artistic interpretation, describing the accessibility of events for blind and partially sighted visitors, or by creating a Friendly Zone.
During the pre-Christmas period, in cooperation with our partners, we carry out charity projects and collections to help homeless people and other socially deprived groups.
