Rebels of 89
Discover fascinating documents, photographs, and personal testimonies that take you back in time to the 1980s. A time when Slovaks and Czechs stood up against the totalitarian regime.
The exhibition offers insight into the impact of the totalitarian regime on the youth, who actively engaged in independent activities, and the student movement that led to the fall of the communist regime in former Czechoslovakia. The exhibition features artifacts, photographs, and audiovisual materials that share personal testimonies from those who contributed to the changes of 1989 during the Velvet Revolution.
The Slovak National Museum – Historical Museum, in collaboration with the Nation’s Memory Institute, presents this exhibition at Bratislava Castle. Regular admission fee is €14, including access to the Historical Museum and Treasury.
