Music for Modra
A local festival with significance beyond the Small Carpathian region. It brings classical music and jazz of the highest quality to the picturesque wine town of Modra at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains.
The 19th edition of the International Chamber Music and Jazz Festival will bring 5 concerts over three summer days. Admission to all concerts is voluntary. Proceeds from admission at the Evangelical Church will go towards the repair of the church. At the concerts in the Manor House and in the New Marriage Hall it will be possible to buy refreshments and fine Modra wine.

19:00 AMC Trio
The award-winning AMC Trio presents its own compositions, in which it goes beyond established jazz practices and reaches for a variety of musical sources. The AMC Trio is the recipient of Radio_Heads Awards and Esprit Awards and boasts collaborations with outstanding American jazz musicians.

Pupils from four Primary Art Schools will showcase their talent and diligence.

19:00 Stadler Clarinet Quartet (CZ/PL)
Wind quintet of the Slovak Philharmonic. The concert will feature works from the Middle Ages to film music in arrangements for two trumpets, trombone, French horn and tuba.
Sunday 18.8., Wild Kitchen, Old Market/Moyzesova
9:30 Breakfast with chamber music
A breakfast with an engaging talk about the mysterious instrument, the clink that doesn’t clink at all. It has a strange shape and sound, which will be demonstrated by the titular experts on Baroque music: zinkist Richard Šeda (CZ), harpsichordist Adam Štefunko and the maker of this instrument Patrik Sabo.
The breakfast experience will also be gastronomic, Wild Kitchen has prepared a special breakfast menu and for this concert you need to book your seats in advance directly at the restaurant.
Sunday 18.8., German Lutheran Church
19:00 František Novotný (CZ) & Berger Trio
The final concert of the festival will take place in the pleasant cool of the German Evangelical Church. It will host Czech violin legend František Novotný, who will be the guest of another legend – the Berger Trio. Music of B. Smetana, B. Martinů, A. Dvořák, J. S. Bach and E. H. Grieg.
The admission to all concerts is voluntary.
