MaidaVale

There is not a lot of psychedelic rock in Bratislava, that’s why it has to be imported here. This time the psych rock band MaidaVale is coming all the way from Sweden to play at the Pink Whale.

Swedish psych rock prodigy coming from different backgrounds, both musically and geographically MaidaVale have the ability to captivate the audience with their lively energy. They got their start in the Stockholm underground scene around 2014. The band fuses neo-psychedelia and krautrock with influences ranging from post-punk, funkadelia to North African blues. With their acclaimed debut “Tales of the Wicked West” (2016), they quickly established themselves on major European rock stages and festivals. The second album “Madness is too Pure”, influenced more by kraut (2018), confirmed the band’s place in the psych rock scene with its boldness and experimentalism. On their third album “Sun Dog” where they collaborated with producers Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) and György Barocsai, MaidaVale worked with a bigger, bolder and more adventurous sound that delves more than ever into their unique concept of neo-psychedelia.
