Lúčnica at the fountain
One of the two final events of the Bratislava Cultural Summer will be a performance by the Slovak National Folklore Ballet Lúčnica on 31 August, followed by the second, a concert by the Slovak Philharmonic at the Fountain on 1 September.
In the first part of the event from 15.00 to 18.30 you can look forward to a series of dance performances of ten Bratislava children’s folklore ensembles associated with the presentation of their activities as extracurricular artistic activities – DFS Prvosienka, DFS Magdalénka, DFS Klnka, DFS Gerulata, DFS Vienok, FS Poleno, FS Dolina, DFS Kremienok, DFS Čunovský flock, DFS Čečinka.
After the children’s programme at 19.30, the event will culminate with a spectacular performance by Lúčnica – the legendary Slovak National Folklore Ballet.
The Slovak National Folklore Ballet Lúčnica has been the international face of Slovakia’s traditional folk music for over seven decades. Its performances, complete not just with the vocals and rhythms, but also the costumes of Slovak folk, have been instrumental in preserving and showcasing to the world what is surely one of the European continent’s most spectacular traditional musical legacies.
Admission is free.
The second closing event of the Cultural Summer will be a concert of the Slovak Philharmonic at the fountain, which will take place on Sunday 1 September at 17:00.

How do I get to the venue (Freedom Square)?
We recommend using public transport, parking in the city centre is limited and charged. For information on parking policy, please visit www.paas.sk.

Bus Nos. 31, 39 and 94 to the Námestie slobody stop
Trolleybus No. 44 to the stop Presidential Garden / Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic

What will happen in case of bad weather?
We will monitor the weather forecast throughout the event. In case of an unfavourable forecast, we will inform you at the event and on social media about organizational changes or possible cancellation of the event.
Where can I find the toilets?
The mobile toilets will be accessible on the arrival walkway from the Government Office and from the Slovak Radio. There will also be toilets for people with mobility problems.
Will there be refreshments at the event?
During the event, there will be 3 foodtrucks located to the left of the main stage where you will be able to buy drinks and small snacks.
