Contemporary metal weaving
Contemporary metal art weavers have prepared an unusual exhibition for the summer and commemorate their “king”
At the non-traditional exhibition of more than 30 artists in the center of Bratislava, you can see combinations of traditional metal weaving and a lot of different materials. Glass, stone, wood and wire are combined into unique works playing with a varied palette of colors, structures and motifs.
The 9th annual exhibition of contemporary art metal wire weavers will also be held this summer in the Primate’s Palace in the center of Bratislava. This year, the artists went for a bold theme that allowed their imaginations to spread their wings. The theme of this year is the combination of wire with other materials.
The exhibition also commemorates the “king of tinkers” Ladislav Jurovatý (1923 – 2012), whose contribution to contemporary tinsmithing is indisputable and his artistic expression has been transformed into several important works of tinsmithing history.
