BRATISLAVA CULTURAL SUMMER

The popular summer multi-genre city festival in the Bratislava area is taking place for the 49th time and it will be full of music, literature, movement and much more.

Bratislava’s cultural summer will start with the Night of Music, where you can hear electric tango, jazz, reggae, indie, classical music, folk, blues and rock, as well as street drummers, marching bands, and DJs in the streets of Bratislava.

This will be followed by more than two months of events full of art and various leisure activities, which will fill the streets not only in the historic center, but in the entire territory of the capital:

📍The courtyard of Biela ulica offers facilities for relaxation in the center itself, every Thursday invites adults and the older generation to author readings.

📍Visitors will also be welcomed by the city walls, selected Friday evenings will open discussions about the history of Bratislava.

📍For those who would like to try a party in a non-traditional form, a Silent disco is prepared in the Klariska Concert Hall.

📍On Wednesday, the Mičurin amphitheater will come alive again with screenings from the new wave of European films.

📍The cultural scene in the Janko Kráľ Garden is transformed into a theater scene every Sunday, first for children, in the evening for adults.

📍There will also be an open-air theater. A new feature of the festival is the creation of a temporary theater stage in the Janko Kráľ Park. Even during the theater holidays, theater fans will be able to see more or less well-known works and formats of performative art.

📍The festival will also be enriched by dance Wednesdays at the Druzhba Fountain under the name Dance at the Fountain, where a different style of dance will always be danced.

📍The tenth edition of the AsynChrónie festival dedicated to the work of the youngest generation of composers will not be missed either.

📍The 14th year of the Bratislava Summer University for Seniors will also be prepared.

📍Visitors can also look forward to a travel cinema or film screenings.

📍In several Central European cities, together with Bratislava, the 25th edition of the Author’s Reading Month will take place.

📍After the audience-successful concert of the Slovak Philharmonic, two events will close the cultural summer. On Saturday (August 31), the artistic ensemble Lúčnica will perform on Náměstí slobody, and on Sunday (September 1), the concert of the Slovak Philharmonic will symbolically end.
