Augustové reflexie. Rok 1968 a ako naň spomíname
In what geopolitical context did the events of 1968 take place? What was Alexander Dubček’s contribution to them? Was it possible to prevent the invasion of the Warsaw Pact troops in August 1968? Who were the victims of the invasion and what were its consequences? These and many other questions will be answered in a lecture by the ÚPN historian Peter Jašek. The topic of the politics of memory will also be raised, i.e. how 1968 resonates in memory in Slovakia at the national and regional level and where the white spots of current research are.
