SANCTA CAECILIA III.

The musical thanksgiving to St. Cecilia, patroness of music and musicians, will be continued

The renewal of the tradition of thanksgiving to St. Cecilia, patroness of music and musicians, by the ensemble of early music Musica Aeterna under the artistic leadership of Peter Zajíček, will continue this year under the title SANCTA CAECILIA III.

The aim of the project is to tie in with the extraordinary musical event of the year, the regular grandiose celebrations of the feast of St. Cecilia. In Bratislava they took place always on 22^nd November in the coronation church – St. Martin’s Cathedral, they were held also in other cities.

This year will be perfomed the cecilian mass by Jan Dismas Zelenka Missa Sanctae Caeciliae ZWV 1, for 4 soloists, choir and orchestra.
