Passion Play – Story of Man and Earth
Scenic fresco about the archaic forms of the struggle of life and death.
Easter has long been an inspiration in art. This applies to music and visual arts, sculpture and carving. The aim of Slovak Folk Art Collective (SĽUK) Pašia’s performance, is to interpret the story of man and earth, living tradition and biblical motifs with contemporary artistic means.
Scenic fresco about the archaic forms of the struggle of life and death. The first is the traditional folk culture linked to the cycle of alternating winter and the arrival of life-giving spring. The second form is represented by the biblical story of the betrayal, persecution, capture, martyrdom and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Venue: Theatre of the Slovak Folk Art Collective – Divadlo SĽUK Rusovce.
