37 wineries, age-old cellars, charming vineyard courtyards, local gastronomy and unique atmosphere of the region. Spring journey through the Modra cellars enchating by their background and non-repetitive ambience starts May 14th in the afternoon
The picturesque townlet of Modra will welcome you to a tasting of the best of the best the second Saturday of May. During the Modra Wine Cellars Day, you can enjoy exquisite wine and specialities prepared by the locals for this special occasion.
This year, during the traditional spring wine celebration, lovely Modra will once again prepare dozens of cellars that will delight you with traditional Little Carpathian architecture and history. You will find there wines from 37 vintners, ready to showcase their cellars. You will have the opportunity to visit historical, but also modern wine cellars, you will get the chance to talk to personalities of Slovak wine, but above all to taste the famed Modran wines.
Come to the renowned wine-growing town of Modra and spend a charismatic Saturday afternoon with friends or family in a unique atmosphere. You will enjoy not only excellent wine, but also the traditional gastronomy of the surrounding region. You will get to know the mysterious corners of Modra mostly hidden from visitors and you will look into the life of families of winemakers, which for generations have been shaped by the wine culture of the Little Carpathians. The ticket entitles you to move freely between wineries.
Thanks to the map, which is part of the provided catalogue, you will be able to orientate yourselves in the town to safely find every cellar, bus stop, ceramics store, or exhibition, but also something tasty to eat. During the whole day, there will be a 10-kilometer long Cellar Courtesy Bus that will ensure your safety and comfort when moving between individual cellars.
Come to cheer up pleasantly with the wine attending the Modra Wine Cellars Day with traditional Little Carpathian architecture and manifold wine-growing culture. Your participation will help to raise the culture of the event and you will at least reward the winemakers themselves a little for their difficult work in growing grapes, producing wine and preserving the wine tradition of the Little Carpathians.
