Bratislava Christmas Market 2017
The Christmas market in Bratislava has a long tradition and is a great place for people getting together for eating and drinking traditional dishes and drinks as well as maybe do some small shopping. It is always pretty crowded and having a great atmosphere. Around 100 booths are opened every year.
The market is organised by Bratislava city and can be found on Main square, Františkánske square, Courtyard of the Old Town Hall, Hviezdoslavovo square, Square of Milana R. Štefánika, and Primacial square, located in the historical center. It is open from 10 am until 10 pm.
24 November, 5:00 pm – Grand Opening of the Christmas Market at Hlavné Námestie and lighting of the Christmas tree by the Mayor of Bratislava – featuring VERTIGO (acrobatics), CreDance (dancing) and BANDA (world music)
VIANOČNÝ UNIKÁT (A UNIQUE CHRISTMAS) – St. John of Nepomuk Courtyard in the Primate’s Palace – 1 December 2017, 5:00 pm, celebratory lighting of decorated Christmas trees and grand opening of the unique Christmas forest, ornaments created and trees decorated by pupils at Bratislava’s kindergartens, primary schools and art schools. The most beautifully decorated tree will receive an award from the City Mayor.
