Class!cal: festival of concert art 2024

Class!cal: festival of concert art is a new project of the Society of Concert Artists, which has the ambition to become an annual event in the cultural calendar of the city of Bratislava. The pilot year brings 3 concerts with an extraordinary dramaturgy and cast.

Marek Štrbák’s organ recital will be performed in the premises of St. Sebastian’s Cathedral, an evening of contemporary music will be presented by the EnsembleSpectrum chamber orchestra under the baton of Matej Sloboda, and the piano will be heard in Moyzes Hall as part of a piano soirée by Peter Nágel and Ladislav Patkoló. The concerts are intended for lovers of classical music, be it the professional or the general public. In addition to world literature, domestic composers – Rosinský, Podprocký, Hatrík, as well as the young and middle generation of prolific composers represented by Novosedlíková, Sloboda, Kmitová, Buffa, and Hvozdík – are richly represented in the dramaturgy. The aim of this initiative is not only to present serious classical music and young artists, but also to create a tradition of an annual encounter with music that appeals, inspires and at the same time creates space for new discoveries.
