A REVAMPED HISTORICAL VINEYARD HOUSE
At Chvostek Winery, the art of winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation. In 2013, the young owners revived the family’s winemaking heritage by opening their own winery. Chvostek Winery is a modern space for wine tastings that comprises a wine shop, wine cellar and a tasting area.
To create the winery, the owners revamped an old vineyard house, where they preserved a stone cellar. The winery is located in Stara Rača, on the outskirts of Bratislava. Rača is renowned for its red wine sort, the Blaufrankisch (Lemberger), known as Frankovka. The region is famed for a story about Empress Maria Theresa, who was incredibly impressed with the wine as it helped her forget the headaches and troubles of governing the empire. In return, she gave Rača privileges for winemaking. Rača can be accessed easily with the tram from the Bratislava city centre.
Chvostek Winery is among the most unique and well-preserved old wineries in the Rača District. It has gained acclaim among meeting planners who wish to surprise smaller groups of attendees with personalised, curated event programs that include exquisite wine. The venue has already hosted many summer concerts, tastings and boutique events. The maximum capacity of the venue for events is 50 attendees.
