The autumn edition of the ITAPA event, the premier technological event in Slovakia, took place from 20 to 30 November 2023. ITAPA offers a unique discussion space for leading opinion makers. This year, the event took place at Hotel Crowne Plaza. One of the questions at the forefront of the event was aimed at figuring out what the city of the future will be. To this end, speakers presented examples of data evaluation in the urban environment, IoT for self-government and other smart city solutions.
Eva Frantová, Radovan Potočár and Juraj Kadáš, the event moderators, helped guide intriguing discussions on eco-friendly digital technologies, energy-efficient solutions, and resources for a green future. Among a slew of renowned speakers, guests could listen to presentations from Stanislav Chlepko, Peter Chochol, Pavol Findura, Norbert Kurilla and many others.
The event showcased that technologies can be very helpful in climate change. People might be surprised to know that scientists who make forecasts of climate development take into account technological development to a great extent. “Scientists are trying to predict what our future will be like, how much climate change will affect us and how much we can slow it down. Climate change is influenced by several factors, the most important of which are demography, economic growth and urbanisation,” emphasised Emil Fitoš, president of the Slovak digital innovation centres
