The debut of Break The Ice Forum in Bratislava
Bratislava is gaining acclaim as a favoured destination for mid-sized trade shows and events. In March, the Slovakian capital hosted the Break The Ice Forum, with almost 80 attendees from 18 countries in attendance. The event took place in the Grand Hotel River Park, where the stage was set for a memorable event. The hotel hosted the first dinner in their RIVERBANK Restaurant Bratislava.
The event organisers partnered with leading Slovakian service providers and companies, including Tour4U DMC, which organised seamless transfer services throughout the event for all attendees. In addition, Enjoy Slovakia DMC orchestrated a city-wide treasure hunt, thus unveiling the rich history and hidden gems of Bratislava to the international delegates.
Attendees could also attend a fam trip and stay at the AC Hotel by Marriott Bratislava Old Town. The organisers worked closely with the Bratislava Tourist Board, the official destination marketing organisation that helped co-create the programme and prepare an extravagant dinner reception.
Effective prescheduled meetings
Face-to-face meetings are at the core of the Break The Ice Forum. On the second day of the event, attendees had 25 prescheduled meetings before joining the teambuilding activity – exploring Bratislava by foot on the treasure hunt. This activity showcased the city’s walkability and sustainability by encouraging sustainable modes of transport and walking.
Before heading out for family trips on the final day, the buyers attended an evening dinner at the Ponton, a restaurant and event venue on the Danube. The unforgettable evening programme was organised by the Bratislava Tourist Board. To learn more about Slovakia as a meeting destination, attendees could attend an exploration tour of the city centre or a regional journey.
The event received media coverage from several Slovakian news stations. TV TA3 and TV Joj interviewed some of the delegates as well as the management of the Break the Ice, the hotels and the Bratislava Tourist Board. Trade shows such as Break The Ice Forum help solidify the city’s status as a captivating meeting destination in the heart of Europe.
